Description
One of the oldest and still best gold Hosta on the market, the August Moon Hosta Lily features a mound of bright golden to chartreuse heart-shaped leaves that are sure to light up shady areas. The thick leaves have excellent slug resistance and tolerant of more sun than other hostas. In summer, clusters of soft-lavender bell-shaped flowers form on sturdy stalks that rise well above the foliage mound. A unique, delightful addition to any shady garden that both you and the hummingbirds will enjoy for years to come!
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing in a dense mound 12 to 24 inches tall and up to 24 to 36 inches wide, August Moon Hosta Lily is ideal for use as an accent, in groupings, massed as a groundcover, or as a border along walkways and paths. It is perfect under large shade trees, decks, covered porches and any other shady location. Don’t think you have any shade? Look on the east side of your home. Also very nice in pots, planters and other containers and a fine addition to Hosta gardens, hummingbird gardens, yellow-theme color gardens, and woodland gardens.
Spacing:  24 inches apart for mass plantings; 48 inches or more apart for space between plants

Growing Preferences
August Moon Hosta Lily is easy to grow in most any moist but well drained soil of average fertility and shade to part shade. Though it will tolerate more sun than most other hostas, we think it looks and performs its best with some shade. That said, morning or late evening sun or all-day filtered sun is fine. Hot afternoon sun can scald the leaves, especially in warmer climates. No pruning necessary though spent flower stems can be removed after flowering.
