Description
One of the easiest roses you’ll ever grow ans the newest addition to the Knock Out Family of roses, the Coral Knock Out produces an abundance of double flowers with orange to coral petals from April to frost on disease free plants. It is just as disease resistant as the famous original Knock Out Rose. The coral color becomes even stronger in hot, humid climates. No need to worry about planting this amazing rose in southern regions as it performs well as far south as Miami, Florida! Every landscape needs a Coral Knock Out Rose.
We have yet to find any other roses that are as consistently disease free as those in the family of Knock Out Roses. Every year, folks send us new roses to try that are touted to be “care free” or “disease free” but, in our gardens, none have come close to rivaling the Knock Out Roses when it comes to disease resistance. So, if you want truly disease-free and low maintenance roses, the Knock Out Roses are your rose!
The Knock Out Family of Roses are exceptionally easy to grow and do not require any special care. They are the most disease resistant roses on the market. They have stunning flower power with a generous bloom cycle (about every 5 weeks) that starts in spring and continues to beyond frost. All of the Knock Out roses are self cleaning so there’s no need to deadhead unless you want to.
All varieties of Knock Out Roses are winter hardy to USDA Zone 5 and heat tolerant throughout the entire U.S.. They thrive in almost every area of the country. In the coldest regions they will need winter protection.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 4 to 5 feet tall and wide, the Coral Knock Out Rose is ideal for use as a specimen, in groupings or as a colorful hedge in landscape and flowering shrub borders and home foundation plantings. This rose is so reliable and attractive throughout the season we have no problem suggesting it for use in home foundation plantings. A fine addition to rose gardens, cottage gardens and red theme color gardens.
Note: For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 5a, where this Knock Out Rose variety is not winter hardy, you’ll be happy to know it can be grown in containers that can be brought indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.
Growing Preferences
The Coral Knock Out Rose is one of the easiest roses you’ll ever grow.
Knock Out Roses are exceptionally easy to grow in average, moist but well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. As with all other roses, to avoid powdery mildew on the leaves, morning sun is a must to dry dew from the leaves. Afternoon shade or filtered sun is fine. We suggest 6 hours or more of direct sun light for best flowering.
Maintenance is minimal. Knock Out Roses do not require pruning, however, they do benefit from it. To keep your Knock Out Rose full and bushy from year to year prune the branches back to about 15-18 inches above the ground in late winter or early spring. After this hard pruning, your Knock Roses will quickly flush out and start blooming with the arrival of warmer spring temperatures. Deadheading spent flowers through the season is not necessary however will encourage new buds and flowers.

Received my new Coral Knock out rose with blooms already on it. It was a large plant and packaged like only Wilson Bros does to prevent damage & soil loss. The soil was moist but some of the bottom leaves were yellow (it didn’t like the box much) Got it in the ground the next day and have had a lot of wind since. The leaves have all greened up and waiting for the next blooms. Thank you Wilson Bros! You guys are AWESOME.———————————————————thanks so much for thje photos! We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy it for years to come! Thanks for the kind words and great review! 🙂 Beth Steele | WBG
