Looking for a plant that is bold and striking with large leaves that will provide a tropical feel, but will still fit into small gardens and patio spaces? Meet ‘Little Prince’, unlike it’s monster cousins that can top out at up to 20 feet, all grown up this hardy little guy might reach a maximum of  3 feet in height. A true garden royalty, and also year round houseplant, it rapidly develops an 8 to 10 inch thick trunk crowned with a canopy of very large green leaves flecked with red. This plant is a perfect addition to container gardens or for mixing into flower beds for an upright accent. It’s interesting to note that the smaller the container you plant it in the smaller the plant stays. For example, in an 8 to 10 inch pot it might grow to only 18 to 24 inches tall.

Little Prince Banana is listed as cold hardy to Zone 7, however, in locations further north containers can be moved inside to a garage or other interior space that remains above freezing during cold periods.
