Description
Moonglow Juniper is a fast growing evergreen conifer that naturally grows and “glows” in a dense, pyramidal form with no pruning necessary. Its intense light silvery blue new foliage and soft texture stand out in the landscape year round and contrast with most any other plants or flowers nearby. As the foliage matures it turns to a grey-green. Naturally grows 15-20 feet tall by 6-8 feet wide but can be sheared occasionally to keep more narrow or control size. Makes for a spectacular outdoor Christmas tree in pots or the ground!
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 15-20 feet tall by 6-8 feet wide at maturity, Moonglow Juniper is ideal for use as a single focal point specimen, in groupings, or in straight or staggered rows to form an attractive screen in landscape borders. Also effective to mark both sides of an entryway or frame corners or fill space between windows in home foundation plantings. A fine addition to white theme gardens, conifer gardens, Asian theme gardens and rock gardens.
Spacing: 4-5 feet for solid hedges and privacy screens; 10 feet or more for space between plants
Growing Preferences
Moonglow Juniper is easy to grow in most any average, moist to dry well-drained soil, and full to mostly sun. Constantly soggy or wet soil is problematic. It is a very low maintenance plant and exceptionally drought tolerant when established. No pruning is necessary.
