October Magic White Shishi Gashira Dwarf Camellia Sasanqua – 3 Gallon Pot

As usual, my plant arrived perfectly packaged. It came quickly in a very safe box. It is now in the ground and thriving with a lot of new growth. I’ve never had plants packaged so well for shipping. Two three gallon shrubs arrived in perfect condition. Plants were trimmed for shipping and root balls filled the pots. Planted on arrival in containers. Shrubs have new stems emerging at each leaf node. These were a hard-to-find plant last spring/summer here in the NW. So glad I started after the new year looking. And this was the only place I found. The plants were packed to perfection and bloomed within a week of being here. A bit early for the NW, but they are healthy and thriving. We love Camellia’s, and our street name is Camellia! These are beautiful yard plants, with very pretty winter blooms. Plus, they remain a nice healthy green the rest of the year.
The Dwarf is perfect, as it only gets 4 ft tall instead of 9 ft. Perfect for our yard, These just purchased are adding to the others already planted in our yard. Wilson Bros is a great place for lots of product selection and size choices. We like the 3 gallon pot size, as the plant is more established already. Plants arrived in great shape. I unpacked them immediately and planted them the same day. They seem happy and are showing new growth already. A small snack of hollytone was used too.
Impressed with the condition of the plants. Don’t think I could find similar size, variety or price locally.

This was my first order from Wilson Bros. I was unable to find this hybrid locally, in any reputable nursery in all of Houston and surrounding areas (that’s a very large area). I was happy to find it online, at Wilson Bros. I chose this hybrid for its specific growth habit/size/color. I ordered two. They were shipped quickly and packaged carefully.
What I am most impressed about was the quality of the plants. I have purchased many Camellias locally from high quality nurseries, and they are almost always root-bound. Perhaps this is because Camellias are slow-growers and they are re-potted several times before being sold. But when I plant them I always have to do significant root trimming to free up the coiled roots, to allow the plant to establish a healthy footing. However, these Camellias from Wilson Bros had gorgeous, untangled, healthy young roots, lots of fresh feeder roots, and no coiled choker-roots. They did not seem to have been previously, carelessly plunked into larger pots as they grew.
